I'm on Strava and I think I have set up privacy zones, they show in my options as on, but I can see the beginning and end of my own rides, I assume no one else can am I correct? as non of my friends are on Starav I cant get them to check whether it is working correctly... could someone please assure this is right.

you are correct

there's some more stuff you should do to protect your privacy on strava too, as apparently if you know what you are doing you can get around the privacy:

- start/end rides a short distance from your house
- rename your bikes so that they cannot be distinguished

Also in your case Simon I would park the long boat in the back garden and take the pointy antlers of your cycle helmet otherwise no end of privacy settings is going to stop people working out who you are ^_^

Thanks guys for the suggestions... I do often think about starting Strava round the corner but never do it. As for naming the bike I have put Viking so I don't think any ones going to bother to hack my privacy zones to find out where I keep it (not dissing it I think its great but hardly a massively desirable bike) but I don't think I will name any better bikes I may own in the future

I just start and finish somewhere else, normally outside 4f's.
You're brave, cycling in that neighbourhood
