I always set Strava on my phone on my rides and would like to know if I can still use my phone with Stava running. At the moment , I will not answer my phone or do any other things with it until I finish my ride in case it stops recording and I lose data.
I know it sounds like a silly question but it does bother me.

La vie continuera.

The strava app will continue to run even if your mum calls you home for tea.

My biggest issue is that once or twice have got home after a ride, take my phone out of my back pocket and realise that it's still waiting for me to press the start button!

When this happened when I was commuting and I was using a wired computer with wheel magnets, I just put on a 2nd magnet for my next commute until I caught up!

It was amusing seeing my speed top 60mph!

Strava should keep running but I have seen plenty of incidents of people using their phone en route (eg to take a picture) and having their Strava pause on them without realising.

I use the 'phone' strava when walking - works fine if you use other apps/take calls. Garmin on the bike as it's just fit and forget till you get home.

if you’re using an iPhone, a blue bar should appear across the top of the Home Screen if Strava is still recording. When you’ve finished making a call just make sure the blue bar is still showing and then scroll away from the Strava app onto another Home page; I’ve had instances where I’ve accidentally opened the Strava app when putting the phone in my back pocket and manually paused the recording!
