I pass a Therapia Rd on one of my commute routes and that supposedly has a Crimean War derivation alongside a Mundania Rd with the same backstory. I'd always assumed they'd been built by some wealthy psychotherapists til I looked them up for this thread.
I guess it makes sense that a lot of Victorian streets would take on these names.

Ooh, I know those 2 roads. They've always made me smile. Generallz, though, I tend not to know the name of the road I'm on and only have a general idea about how I'm going to get where I mean to go.

We used to live in an area the name of which invoked a particular type of sexuality. There were several roads named after the area, and a nearby house also had that name. Now by coincidence, our neighbours happened to be of that sexuality, so when a delivery man turned up one day and said "Oh, I suppose they're [insert sexuality] in that house are they?", we were a bit taken aback and sort of stammered and said "er yes, but how did you know?" He then went red-faced and had to explain that he'd just been referring to the other house with the name as a bit of a joke, and that he really had no issue and hadn't meant to cause offence or judge anyone!

I go down Monks Road and there are still the ruins of the old abby standing, surrounded by a kids play area and terraced housing still looks strange to me after all these years[13].

Furries' Hill?
Heh. A game of guess the sexuality could be rather revealing.
