I know what you mean, Hover Fly!

Although they don´t scare me (I´m hard, me ), there is something slightly sinister about them.

There are a number of them in the main pedestrian street in Oslo sprayed in either silver, gold, black, grey or white and they do look eerie!

My eleven-year-old son hates clowns and was terrified of them when he was small. I used to torment him I must admit. We'd get out of the car in a multi-story, not a soul in sight, and I'd just say 'clown'. He'd freeze to the spot as his eyes frantically searched every corner of the floor! Funny :0)

Just asked him if he still hates them and he said "Kind of. They aren't funny and they're creepy". Hard to argue with that.

"living statues" appear particularly pointless.

Mmm. What makes a person wake up in the morning and want to do that? I think that most performers are basically tossers. They just crave attention.

It's the same with electricians.

Well, only the ones who whistle. I never trust people who whistle whilst they're working. To me it suggests they're trying to project an air of confidence, which suggests they don't know what they're doing.
