Norm, Saturday nights from now on are perfect for me. Nothing on telly, other half glued to it - me non-plussed to it. So I just charge my lights up and go for a couple of hours on the dark coutry lanes.

I wonder if you recognise these sentiments...

I (personally) find strangers sneering openly and excessively just because they don't 'get' an entertainment programme to be quite offensive and insulting towards those who do find it enjoyable.

Strictly Dancing. I don't watch it. I have watched a couple of episodes though.
It's something which I might have watched because the format of taking someone with no experience and bringing them on and getting them to a fair standard is appealing ( as in Military Wives etc).
What does it down for me is the judges. To me they come across as being totally fake. The gushing praise is completely over the top and the spiteful criticisms and put downs are unwarranted and pointless.

That's what makes good TV ?

Maybe for some but not for me.

I don't deliberately turn it on or follow it, but when I'm at NT's it tends to be on at dinnertime and I quite like the dancing, but I more or less turn off mentally when the judges say their bit. It's all samey - Bruno is overly gushing, Len is nice, Craig is nasty, this year's token woman offers technical advice. Everyso often, for dramatic effect, they switch roles. That's just how this sort of show works.

surely it's a confidence thing? Once you stop believing in yourself, you're doomed.

Can't we have this back in P+Lite, where all the best 'Strictly' threads go?
