i purchased this a few weeks back to remove my seized seatpost,

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Spanner-3...DIY_Materials_Plumbing_MJ&hash=item4abe851d94

i lubricated down the join as much as a could for a week while waiting for the wrench to arrive. after 20 mins using the wrench the seatpost moved a centimetre. it then took about an hour pulling it up by myself careful not to wreck the seat stays under the seat.

the seat post got damaged and contorted a little but still works just looks ugly.

dont know if itll work for carbon though i think my seatpost or frame may be aluminium and/or steel.

stilsons have worked for me on stiff posts , and the other thing that works is using plusgas not wd40 along with tapping outside of seat tube with a solid piece of wood to help release post

Boil the kettle and pour hot water onto the frame, not the stem. Quickly twist and pull the stem before the heat transfers. If first time it does not work, allow everything to cool down fully then try again. This won't damage the frame or stem.

Carbon post stuck in a carbon frame? You.got.bad times ahead my friend. What length of post is in the frame, and did you use carbon assembly compound?

With a carbon post and frame? Agreed it won't damage it, but I don't think it will do anything else.

Expansion and contraction is a basic element of any material, I would put a months salary on it working if done correctly!!
