student cycle to work

ok..im thinking about cyling to school all the time next year. Il be in the sixth form so its not like im in compulsory education, I was just wondering whether I can use the cyle to 'work' scheme, or will it not apply as I am not employed as such?

oh just realised I dont really pay tax yet... but I have do in my previous job and I have the whole nationla insurance jabba

It's based on salary sacrifice, hence saving tax, but you don't have a salary to sacrifice. National insurance doesn't count. You may be just as well looking out for a bike in the sales as you could save almost as much.

Also you don't pay income tax as a full time student, so no benefit of a cycle to work scheme

Might aswell get an old road bike/frame and build it up. The fixed that i'm building will be used to get me to 6th form next year.
