Richard Wilson's 20/50 is going to the Saatchi gallery near Sloane Square.
This is one of those works of art that can change your life. It certainly changed the way I look at things. What it isn't is a trompe l'oeil. It's a serious look at colour, weight, stillness and light made by a man (one of the leading lights in the extraordinary Bow Gamelan) who is relentlessly unserious. Look, look and look again.
The photograph is misleading in one sense. I can only imagine that the artist turned up dressed in his usual 'informal' fashion and Saatch's publicists screamed 'get him a jacket!'
Worth a look if you are anywhere nearby. Entrance is free.
