After doing a lot other jobs, found some time to get on with the Sun again. Had to fit a different chainset and BB spindle. Various other fettling jobs done...

Slowly getting to the point when I can take this machine for a test ride.

That's what I like to hear,and give us a full skinny on how it is please.
I'm expecting it to be comfortable and soaking up the bumps well.

Don't know if we're talking about the same outers but when I refurbed the Carlton I found lots of white ribbed stuff on evilbay UK under Sturmey Archer. It looked zaktly like the original badly perished stuff that was on the bike ... and don't those white Carlton hoods last for yonks?

Build nears its end, looking forward to a road test soon to sort out any last niggles. Taken 6 months to get to here with a few problems along the way. A nod to gentler cycling times past...
