My usual Sunday AM ride was postponed until the afternoon.

After about 20 miles my rear gear cable snapped so I had to just use my triple to assist the hills (which was fine). It being an afternoon, there was more traffic and just to top my abandoned ride a caravan decided to nearly kill me.

It was so so close, I lost my voice shouting and screaming.

I did not have my camera attached, as is always the way.

Oh, and my GPS failed so none of the 30+ mile ride was recorded.

But at least I made it home in one piece.

Shed draggers seem to forget about the caravan when they pass you.

Hope your next ride is more pleasant.

Sounds nearly as bad as my ride the other Sunday, in my case it was a bee or wasp that tried to kill me. Its life, crap happens, store the memory in a dark corner of your mind and look forward to the next ride.

It must have been a cursed day. I managed to find myself riding against the flow of runners in the Winchester half marathon. They'd closed the roads but they'd forgotten to mark one of the junctions, so I'd accidently strayed on to the route. I pulled over to the side to let a bolus of runners pass and caught a pothole, flipping me sideways and off the bike. All this in front of a decent crowd supporting the runners. As I went down I heard the clapping change to a synchronised "ooooooooohh!" from about 50 people as I hit the deck. No harm done to me as I was practically stationary, but the deraillieur hanger was bent (luckily not the di2 attached to it). Because of all the road closures and the spannered gears, it took me nearly an hour to get home for what would normally be a 15 minute ride. Think of a swear word. Yep, used it.

My Saturday am ride was going fine until whilst riding two up on the front there was a bit of miscommunication between me and the other rider at a roundabout! One (slow) collision later and not clipping out in time led to road rash on my shoulder and scuffed bar tape!

And then after I got home a pipe burst in the up stairs bathroom and leaked all through the (newly plastered and painted) ceiling!

I'd happily agree that this weekend didn't happen!
