Awake at 6 with no reason to get up again.

It's sunny and still: I'm off to find my winter gear and head off for a spin.

Coffee drunk.

Morning

Up early as have to drive to start of a group ride. Why do people like early starts?

As long as I breathe, I attack.
Still knackered from yesterday so i had to pull out of the club ride and my knee has been niggly again , i had dropped my saddle 5 mm as an experiment which i would not have thought would make a difference but i may have to put it back up again .
Done 4 loads of washing already and later today i will dismantle mrs ck old wardrobe as both of ours are falling to bits so we will get replacements after the move plus i have to clean the oven today too .

Yep, windy bright but cool. Good to look at as that Embra wot I met once bloke says.
I hope it calms down so I can pedal but there's no hurry there so I can spend time fuelling up.

Coffee

Cool but dry here. Feeling somewhat jaded as we didn’t get in from friends party till the early hours. So I need to finish my coffee, walk Bertie then find my winter cycling kit to attempt a ride later.

Got visitors coming round for lunch today so Mrs. 666 is in the usual full stressbag panic mode (they're her visitors so completely self inflicted). I'm doing a few jobs and staying at minimum safe distance until they show up.

mtb spd sh 51 so 4 degrees , had an mri done and i have been told the coating on the back of the kneecap has wear but i also get pain on the inner side of the knee having seen doctors, physios and consultants its a mystery. I was told i did have some damage to the meniscus a while ago so im guessing its got a bit worse and i i already had a tear on the other knee snipped. 40 years old manual jobs dont help either as my right thumb had to be fused and left fingers and thumb can ache too.
I cant see me ever being able to retire due to health problems with mrs ck and mini ck 1 so i have to keep going even if some days i need painkillers to get through the day .
Feeling pretty down atm as every time i start to get some fitness again something plays up as the last 4 years i have had to have 3 operations for various things , weight is creeping up as i comfort eat as i cant train and im in a viscous cycle .

Morning all. Looks like today is going to be a breezy and cloudy one. Taking OH in a bit then back on painting and stuff. Yesterday's ride certainly woke a few different muscles up, as we pushed the pace a bit in places. CK, it can feel overwhelming at times, when age, work, moving etc start to catch up. Try and chill out a bit, lower the pace / expectations and hopefully rebuild as everything resets itself.

fwiw i had pain on the inner side of knees and repeated strains etc., multiple bikefits didn't help, then a sports physio said i needed a lot of extra arch support, instant cure

my probably was excessive pronation, ankles rotate inwards as i walk/pedal, which strains the knees - also explains the pain i had when humping heavy backpacks in my earlier years unless i wore the boots with hard arch supports in them, i just never made the connection with cycling

these days almost everything aches, feet, back, knees, hips, elbows, shoulders, hands, sigh
