Maybe the Ghanaians didn't like you.
I like fish curry. Never had a n issue. The whole point of spices in warm climates is that meat doesn't keep.

I love spicy food and I’d been eating various hot dishes (cooked by the incredible woman in the photo below) all fortnight without repercussions. I suspect that the food hygiene at the hotel we stopped at en route to the airport wasn’t up to her high standards, despite her cooking on an open fire for an awful lot of people, three times a day.

Had that from a not-fish curry in Devon. Cycling home thought "Hmm, I think I'll make it home...", then realised I definitely couldn't... fortunately there was enough cover for an emergency download. My system didn't make any concessions for me wanting to sleep when I got home, and, like you, I wondered how there could be any more by 6am and how the lower intestines could be quite so painful.

May I suggest fickle intestines not necessarily food poisoning?
I have never had any post curry shenanigans. Not once. Born and bred in Kenya where curry was often on the menu. I attended massive Sikh weddings where the Memsaab's used to come at 6 am and use our cooker in part of a network of people contributing to 200+ attendees. My father was an honorary member of the Sikh community. Quite an accolade for a white man. I still have his Sikh bangle.
Friday night is curry night in casa Pinno. Again, never an issue. My girls were eating mild curry at 5 years old - stuffed in Naan or Pita bread and topped with yoghurt.
You're all welcome though it's probably 50/50 that you will be sat on the toilet the following day but it won't be because of bacteria, it will be because they're hot and very spicy so you will eat and then depart as you're not going to upset my septic tank and I don't want to hear groaning and windy noises. Bring beer and a Bollywood DVD then eat and then sod off. Book early to avoid disappointment.

I was only kidding. So much colour in Africa ^. Blighty can be a tad grey. Love that huge Sufuria.

If you had upset someone, the Juju man may have sprinkled something on your fish.

Afternoon.
Took Bertie for a longish walk which resulted with a nearly as long shower to get him clean again. Just had a visit from our old next door neighbours, which has got in the way of going for a ride. So it’s become a rest day.

Omg, the CC membership doesn't sleep at night .... vampires
I remember lockdown fondly, because I was the same!

It was only one plate of food and I couldn't understand (and still don't) where all this sh*t was coming from.
Food poisoning takes 24 to 36 hours for the symptoms to appear, it was probably something you eat or drunk before you had the curry.

It is from bacteria all right, it's just that your body is used to those particular ones.
I went to Cairo with my friend, she is from there but at the time she had already been living in the UK for 40 years.
Her mother cooked us a meal, there was some fish that looked off to me - it looked off to my friend too, but she eat it for politeness, I didn't.
Guess who was sick next day?
Not her mother, who eat the fish too!

Indeed.
My pet gripe (worked in a cocktail bar as a student) is when people serving put their fingers inside whatever vessel. Locally, I watched a girl put her fingers in the coffee mug's spread them out and then poured the coffee. I refused to pay or drink it. Especially, where in a service environment, people are handling money which is filthy.
I did a food hygiene course and they took samples off our skin and hands and grew them in a Petri dish...

I don't think people realise that their habits are pretty poor.

Now having a puppy for the first time in my life and scooping up Pooh, taking dead things out of his mouth that he’s found then being licked by him and that’s when he’s not trying to snog me.
As I haven’t currently got the plague I suspect it’s just a matter of time.🤢🤢🤢🤢

No. You'll build up antibodies.
Also. there is some evidence to suggest that pin worms have a protective effect on the bodies' immune system:
  • Potential Protective Mechanism: Researchers hypothesize that helminth (intestinal worm) infections, including pinworms, can modulate the immune system, potentially inhibiting allergic sensitization and reducing allergic airway inflammation.
After hospitalisation (some time ago in a place far far away), we were told we needed to have a sterile room and get rid of all our pets as I was highly immuno compromised. We didn't. I'm still alive and unlike others in my condition, I rarely get stomach bugs and i'm always exposing myself to all manner of things (but i'm not going in to too much detail 'cos that @Drago bloke will put 2 and 2 together and make nefarious suppositions).

Never mentioned the mice that we are catching. After 12 in the non deadly traps and on going we went to deadly traps. We have gone to lethal so far 2 victims and as Mrs W doesn’t do dead things I have to handle all this stuff. As a retired nurse I know all about infection control but my skin is so rough I could never get it clean enough to pass the infer Red test.
