The mice chewed their way out of the humane ones and you never know if you are just catching the same mouse.

Permanent marker and number them as you catch them. Same number appears you know you have a repeat offender.
We caught about 12, there were 2 in the same trap on one occasion. However they destroyed 3 humane traps and apparently you are supposed to release them over a mile away from your house. It’s on thing getting up at 3:00 am when you have caught one, getting dressed so I can walk the 50 metres to release it behind the garage. But getting in the car to drive a mile to let it go is a bit of no,no.
So unfortunately they’ve had their chance.

It’s the attic bedroom, we have heard rustling behind the stoothing wall and where we have caught them is a cupboard which is there to allow access to the pipework to shower room. I blocked all the holes and gaps between the woodwork I could see with wire wool. Also on the outside wall where they are possibly getting in. But it’s a stone mid terrace house probably originally built in the 1700’s so despite it being completely renovated 11 years ago its going to have more holes than a sieve.
