Afternoon Slackers,

Good lie in after the BILs birthday bash yesterday. Have walked the hounds now just need to digest lunch before going out for a pedal. Then will catch up with F1 and footy related goings on later.

Afternoon people.
Lazy morning followed by chores. Then got to play with my toys on my newly installed bench top. Almost a pity to make it dirty.
Sharpened all my chisels x6 with my new honing guide and various grades of wet and dry glued to a flat tile.
Then set about lapping the base of my new block plane and honing the blade. Then onto my usual general plane of no name. I have two of my dad's old Stanley Planes. Lovely quality but sadly neglected on a shelf at the bottom of the bench and rusting away. Cue lots more wey n dry. More lapping. More honing. Dismantling and cleaning and oiling.
Sharpening the last blade and finished, stupidly ran my finger along near the edge of the blade to remove some swarf. Didn't realise quite how sharp it was until I noticed a lot of blood pooling on my new bench! Made a deep slice into my finger tip! Feck! Hands covered in muck and cut stinging. Thought doing the washing up would clean it out nicely. The wonders of Fairy Liquid. Now bandaged and throbbing. Oh and sharpened my Gustav Emil Ern kitchen knives x5. Decided not to check sharpness with my fingers this time.
Gotta be beer o'clock by now, Shirley?
