Unfortunately I don't have the EXIF data as I played around with the contrast in PIXLR which lost it, but it's about as follows:
Camera: Nikon D90
Lens: Sigma 150-500mm (at 500mm)
f11 (or 18, I tried with both)
Mode: Manual
Shutter speed: Can't remember exactly, but surprisingly high. Certainly over 1/125
ISO: 200
Tripod mounted and fired using remote release.
Post image processing (brightness & contrast) in PIXLR
Focus by autofocus (AF-S.) I started in manual (set to infinity) but it was blurry. Luckily the AF seemed to have no problem at all.
I actually got some pretty decent images right from the off, thanks to
this article which highlights just how brightly illuminated the Moon actually is
That could just be a picture of a normal sized moon! You should have held up a ruler or something in the photo to give us an idea of scale....
I shall make sure to do that next time
