My estimated 15 year old Surly received a much needed dose of attention. The image in pale blue is freshly built before I picked it up from “Keep Pedalling” in Manchester. Since then i flat barred it , used it to transport two of my children around up to the age of riding on their own. I’ve had it sand blasted and powder coated by cyclone in Stockport.
Base orange with a second blue with silver sparkles, it’s not as bling as I hoped unfortunately however I love the overall package!

Looks good. I had my recumbent sand blasted and powder coated a couple of years ago. Just the one colour in my case. But I supplemented with orange bar tape and headset cups etc. I think its a great way to refresh a bike frame and keep it going a few more years, for relatively little cost vs. new bike

Looks good - like a completely different bike.

Tempts me to get my 1990s Marin powder-coated and back on the road. Can anyone give me an idea of cost for a stripped frame and fork?

I had a mixte frame and fork a basic single colour 10 years ago £20.
This frame, two colours and silver sparkles topcoat , fork, stem and seatpost single colour £100. I had the bike shop remove and refit headset and bottom bracket and threads cleaned out. I could have done this but it’s approaching a busy period at work.
Total cost for the powder coat labour, new cables, brake pads and Surly stickers was circa £200.
Well worth it for another 15 years bouncing down the Rochdale canal to Manchester commuting to work…..hopefully.

Nice :becool: My Cross Check is about 12 years old (the orange one) and there's a lot of red oxide primer covering scratched paint (to protect the frame). I'm hoping to get it re-sprayed some time soon and thinking a deep pink/magenta colour.

There’s a surly frame on keep pedaling fb page(I don’t know which model) that’s a purple candy. It looks superb.
