Suspicious Tarmac SL4 with SRM meter on ebay in Slough

My suspicions were aroused by the SRM crankset with no mention of the other SRM bits. So a few mins ago I sent this question: "Hi. What's the story with the SRM? Are other bits included?" The answer was: "Hi I don't understand your question; please clarify. What do you mean by "what's the story with the SRM" Also, which other "bits" are you referring to ?" Smells iffy to me. Or am I being unfair? The seller has 3 other bike sales in his feedback history, 2 BMX and one child's bike.

If you think it's dodgy, should I post in other forums? If so, which ones?

He's just taken it off ebay, just 5 mins after answering my question! Maybe I put the wind up him. Or maybe he googled 'tarmac sl4 on ebay' - my op comes up on the first page of results. Should this forum be hidden?

He`s withdrawn it from sale !!

He's also advertised it on bikeradar and has a flickr accunt with pics of it. I can't copy the links because of mouse trouble but if you google 'tarmac sl4 srm for sale' you'll see the bikeradar link, which leads to the flickr one.

On bikeradar he says it's 'my bike'. How can it be his if he doesn't know about the SRM display? He's probably reading this thread anyway. Hello Jas Gill, did you steal this bike, or buy it from a thief?

First of all if you had paid genuine ££ for a bike of that calibre you would keep it clean especially if your selling it for three grand.

And look at the gear it's in. He's just been pedalling slowly around Slough looking for other bikes to nick.

I think everyone should calm down a bit. You don't need the SRM head unit to read the numbers - you can use a Garmin with ant+. This might not be as suspicious as you are thinking....

Ah. He did say "Garmin bits are not included in the sale" in the ebay listing. But he didn't put any Garmin bits in the spec list. Most confusing. Maybe he's just an honest chap with more money than sense.
