Gross, I know.

I've found as its warmed up if im on a particularly hairy descent I've gone to grab my brake levers to have my fingers slip off due to sweat. Queue panic and much swearing etc.

I was wondering if anyone has any ideas how to 1) stop this happening or 2) can you get any rubber grips or anything for brake levers? I'm using Shimano Tiagra. It's of course not such a problem when I'm on the drops and I can get my fingers fully round the lever itself.

As always, any and all advice appreciated!

Try bar tape or insulation tape wrapped around your levers?

Not quite the same as a road bike but I have foam grips on my butterfly bars on the hybrid.
Even in this heat my hands haven't slipped once.
I wonder if you could get something similar for your levers?

You could probably use the foam lagging that is used to insulate water pipes. It's cylindrical, with a slit running all the way along it, so you can just push it over the pipe. Have a look in your local Homebase.

Look on the bright side.

If you can think of any orifice that you would normally have to lube in order to probe it? Sweaty fingers will act in a self-lubing sort of action, could potentially save a fortune on k y jelly!

Get probing, I say!
