I seem to have the lot at the minute and have had one or the other on and off for about a month!

Do you still commute when you have said addlictions? I am tempted but worry that it will set my asthma off, as these things seem to settle on my chest a bit. Any views?

Stay at home wrap yourself up in cotton wool and sit at your computer reading CC and looking at Wiggles web site

Well I was called by the doc and yesterday got both the normal flu and swine flu jabs. Feeling a little light headed today, but hopefully it will keep the worst of the lurgy away this winter.

+1, just had this and started back to work too early.
Trying to gulp air at the same time as trying to expel the breathing blockage is quite worrying. Especially as this is only on the flat bits :'(

Dispite my numerous efforts, the Mrs. convinced me not to ride just after something similar. No doubt it did me good in the long run. Ill last week, full week's commute this week and feel good as ever ............ except for cold toes in the morning!

I have the same with my Asthma that any sort of cold goes to my chest.

After a real bad few months of colds a couple of years back where I had one every 2 weeks I decided to take multi vitamins, and if you don't take them start now they have done me so much good and keep your immune system in top working order. Cant remember which one it is but vitamin B1 or B2 is meant to help fight colds.

Zinc is also great in the fight against colds as is garlic.

Vitamin B1 and B2 help with the burning of fat and carbs too! (B1 for carbs, B2 for fat). Bonus!

I mistakenly at the start of this year cycled through a chest infection...I'd say if you have a bout of the flu - take it easy until you're back on track - if you feel congested in the chest or have a sore throat, take time off. I think it's worth listening to when the body is telling you to take a break- if you've had that much illness in the space of a month you may not have allowed yourself time to recover properly - worst thing is exercising and circulating the virus/bacteria further around your body through the bloodstream.

Rest easy and gws- frustrating as it is- you've got plenty of time to be on the bike.
