Another good word. I learned of it from the Charlie Kaufman film. A film that is marmite I'm sure though I personally loved its Russian Doll, labyrinthial, paradox, mind warping daftness; Kaufman at his most infuriating and enigmatic. Pretentious nonsence some would say, and I get why.
In the film, Synecdoche is a fictional place in New York state - though it sounds like it could be a real place given the names there! What I did not know was that it is an actual word, a kind of figure of speech /metaphor. Not only did I not know the word, I didn't even know of the figure of speech (and it's various members) it described. A true gem of a find for me!
