Imgot a set of Parkside ones from Lidl and was extremely pleased with the quality. They came with a holder too.

Rightly or wrongly I consider Bondhus the benchmark for such things; I have a set of metric ball end Allen keys which see regular use, have worn well and weren't eye-wateringly expensive.

That said the T-handle jobs are a different format to many which may or may not be to your taste.

While I've often dangled the carrot of a set in front of myself I've never quite been convinced by their functionality (not sure about having all that mass hanging off the top during fine work / around easily-damaged stuff) or value in terms of cost, functionality and storage space compared to a humble set of Allen keys for 30-40% of the price.

That said the majority of my work is on more delicate toys; they might feel more appropriate on bikes, cars and generally larger stuff.

I went for the Facom all metal ones. They were quite pricey but aren't quite as dear for the smaller set without the 10mm which I don't think I've ever used. Top quality and I'm glad I've got them despite the price which is north of a hundred quid for the 8 piece full set. They do sliding bar and fixed bar versions. Mine are the fixed but I can see pros and cons of either.
I'm after similar in torx fitting and am umming and arring over a Neilsen set, but unsure of them as a brand

I got a set from Halfords, as I had a voucher to use.
"Good choice - they have a lifetime guarantee" says the guy on the till.
My reply "At my age, that's not much of a selling point"

But they seem to be good quality, and have worked well without rounding despite my cack-handed abuse.

+1 for Bondhus

I have most sizes bought piecemeal from a local tool merchant over the years.

After 10+ years or regular use my 5mm was getting a worn tip, so I carefully chopped 5mm of the bottom worn end.

The other option that I often reach for is a 1/4" drive set of Hex bits that I used with various handles, ratchets extensions and wobble bars and power drivers and of course Torque Wenches.
I have a few but I think the better ones are my Teng Set, closely followed by Machine Mart better home branded stuff.
I have some 1/2 drive 6mm+ bits for when you need a 36" breaker bar on them!

I always buy quality tools. More expensive but much longer lasting.

There is NOTHING worse value than cheap tools. Being what my dad calls a proper tight wad - I don't mind paying more if buying better means buying once. Cheapest price doesnt equal best value.
