Bus driver saw me unless he has glass eyes (we had eye contact),when I was being irrational at work after the incident,as I reckon I have had a run in with this driver before, just it was they way he was looking at me,but obviously I forgot,no man is an island and all that stuff,I actually thought he had done it deliberately, but if he really wanted to harm me im sure he could have done so.

If he recognised you and if he has his bus plastered all over the internet, then I would state he knew exactly what he was doing.

In fact, if he didn't he shouldn't be driving a bus.

Utter douchebag.

I haven't read other replies, so apologies if this has already been said.

Your position in this video wasn't brilliant. You say you made eye contact and that's fair enough, but running the risk in this situation just isn't worth it.
On the other hand, the bus driver was totally in the wrong. If as you said you made eye contact THEN the driver accelerated to turn left in front of you. He also didn't use his indicators, even though he knew there was a cycle lane there, and that you were on his nearside.

I'm not going to tell you off for the positioning as we all make mistakes, just giving a bit of advice to stay behind the most forward vehicle in the line of traffic at a red light, unless you can DEFINITELY get into the ASZ without any difficulty. This way if the driver does unexpectedly turn it's a hell of a lot easier to get out of trouble.

Lets get this straight - when filtering with large vehicles who are near the front of a queue of traffic:

If you are confident you will be in front of the large vehicle before a change of lights - if the large vehicle, or potentially another vehicle or 2 are in front of the large vehicle, you get in front of them so they can see you in their line of sight, regardless of whether that puts you across a stop line or not.

Self preservation first, rules second.
No, if you can clearly see there is not enough space for you at the front, you should wait behind.

You've misunderstood/misread my post [on a re-read i can understand why, perhaps not clear enough].

If you can see there isn't enough space then of course you wait. Often you can't tell due to the length and width of a bus.

The point is that if you can't tell, then either wait behind or be prepared to wait over the junction. Neither is necessarily wrong or right.
