I have not done many overnight cycling trips recently but when I did I took a net book with me to download data from my Garmin GPS and from my cameras. I am thinking of getting a tablet but none seem to support a USB device or a card reader. Are there cables available so that I can attach a card reader and my GPS?

I have such a cable for my Samsung Galaxy Tab. I have tested it with a USB memory stick and it worked just fine. I don't know about other makes/models, but it would be surprising if suitable interfaces were not available.

This was always an issue and still remains so for most tablets.

I ended up splashing out on the Edge 810 and using the bluetooth to download the data to Garmin Connect

Thanks but no thanks. I think I'll pass.
I have a samsung galaxy tab as well. You can buy an accessory that plugs into it and you can use a flash drive or a micro sd card. even without the extra add on there is a micro sd card slot on the samsung itself that can take one up to 32gb.

Mine and phils must be newer than yours. With a 32gb sd card, plus the 16gb it already has it boosts it to 48 gb In total. I got mine for a specail price of £188.00, but I think you would have to pay over £300.00 for them. Try looking at the nexus. I also think there is one called a go tab that does the same thing. Look on ideal world tv. They have a website as well. You can probaly pick one up for around £180.00.
The Google Nexus 7 and 10 are very fast, very good value and they have a micro USB port.
I have the Nexus 7 (the new version) and it is ace and unlike the Samsung Galaxy Tabs all of the memory is accessible for everything

The only downside with the Tabs is as I have mentioned in my previous post it doesnt treat the SD card like normal memory so it isnt available to install Apps in, unlike the Nexus 7 that has the full 32gb available.
