Taff Trail on a road bike ?

Has anyone done the Taff trail from Brecon to Cardiff this year ?....I was intending attempting to do it on a roadie with 28cms cross tyres, but have seen differing opinions as to whether or not its possible on a road bike...

Any guidance appreciated..

My wife and I did it two weeks ago on tourers, we did from Brecon to the narrow gauge station after Pen y Fan. From the dam wall of the Talybont Reservoir to past the tunnel entrance (the old railway track) the surface is stony and in poor condition. Other than that this section is on normal roads.

I rode in Shimano sandals with cleats as I always do. My wife uses toe clips.

I did it the other way, on 28 tyres and full panniers. There was a bit of it that was a little bumpy but nothing to bother 28s. Clipped into Eggbeaters if that makes a difference !
