Can't help you as I Am Abroad, but I would reiterate the Ide Hill, Hogstrough Hill route as it's my regular outing if you are still riding.
Also my club ride out from Orpington at 9 on Saturdays if you want to check out the GS Avanti website, they take newcomers iirc.
