Take my place on bike course?

I've been off work this week with nasty cold/flu thing. I was hoping that I would be better by now, however, I've gone downhill again with what might be sinusitus and (hopefully not) a developing migrane. There is no way I can make the Edinburgh bike Coop course (Edinburgh) tomorrow.

It is non-refundable (pressy from wife ) so it will just go to waste, unless someone can use it.

Does anyone want to go in my place ?( I assume they will allow that).

Of course it will be free, I wouldn't expect anything.

I'll keep an eye on here (or my wife will) to see if there are any takers.

I am very disappointed:sad:

If it was here in Manchester I'd be delighted, I'm looking into it for myself for Christmas as a pressie from my Daughters.

Surely they can allow you to change dates for illness - if not then ask them if they'll be okay for you to show up and cause everyone else to be ill...

No chance of chainging the date unfortunately. I checked.

So can anyone make it? It is a shame to waste it.

Bad luck magnatom. I would have been interested, but pulled a muscle in my back. Hope you get better soon. Perhaps you could lend your helmet cam to the person doing the course.

Where and when is it exactly? I'm very tempted, but it would be a bit of a squeeze... Are you sure they would allow someone else to attend?

It's in Edinburgh in their shop. I think it isn't too far from the city centre (they have a map on their web site).

When I phoned and asked, they said it would be fine for someone else to go. You'd just have to say that you were taking my place.

It starts at 10am and finishes at 6pm. Let me know if you are up for it.

Ooops...no, that's definitely not happening! For some reason I thought you were talking about the Manchester one (think it was the word Manchester in Sharkyblokes post that confused me)...Heat must be getting to me!

I think it's a bit off if they wont allow you to change the date - I can understand them not wanting to get trainers in and no-one turns up and expecting to just be allowed to attend on a different day... but if you've told them in advance that you are unwell it seems a little harsh.

Perhaps just part of the cost should be non-refundable, the whole cost seems a bit OTT IMO.

Bad luck Mags.

My wife did say that they stressed the non-refuundable part when she bought them. I think they are very popular so they don't want speculative booking.

No point getting upset about it. I am actually a little better tonight (turned out not to be a migrane). I think it is still unlikely, but I might be able to make it tomorrow. However, in the mean time, if someone else says they would like to go that's fine. I should probably have the day off to rest anyway.

My only problem is, I gave the bike a good clean yesterday (just as I was starting to feel better and before I got worse again!) and everything needs readjusted etc. I'm not sure I could do that myself without going on the course! Bike will probably end up at LBS at some point.... Oh well....
