So earlier in the year I cycled to Paris and back over 6 days with some friends.

Not before time, I've finally finished cutting what is effectively a documentary about the whole trip. I've spent so long looking at it I've rather lost sight of whether or not it's watchable to anyone one who wasn't involved, but either way, if you have some time to kill and there's nothing better on the telly, who knows- you might want to take a peek! So here's the direct links which you can ignore, or use at your leisure...

The drama starts a short way into part 2, with a rather unpleasant local who likes four wheel drives and alcohol, but not English cyclists, as it turns out...

Or you can go to YouTube and do a search for "having it for Harry - the story of the ride"

All constructive criticism welcome!

Very good.

Your French friend was pleasant!

I didn't take this action lightly, but I regret that I have had to remove him from my christmas card list...

He was a total nut-job though. He was on some other kind of substance too - you could tell by the state of his skin. tony speaks relatively good French, but (as he says in the discussion at the end of that part),he was using alot of slang, spoke badly and seemed to generally be "bad stock".

Last thing we wanted was a confrontation on the roadside, but if we'd just tried to carry on riding he may very possibly have run us off the road. The road was deserted and about 3 miles from the next village with no turn offs.

Still, we can laugh about it now... and it made it a bit more interesting than your usual london-paris-london bike ride!!
