oh no... it seems that he had best intentions at heart (i.e stopping cause he saw you coming down the bus lane)...but it was just unfortunate that he stopped in the wrong place... it's like when peds are crossing the road and then don't know whether to keep walking across quickly or go back but then usually end up freezing (like this guy apparently did - i concede not good for him to do it in a vehicle though)... at least he stopped to see if you were alright!

glad you're ok though!

Thanks jely. Like you say, I think he probably had the best intentions of trying to avoid me but didn't know whether to carry on or stop. Unfortunately, he chose the wrong option. Like I said before, I'll put this down to experience and hoepfully, nothing like this will happen again.

and i have no doubt he'll be watching out for cyclists more too... you probably scared him half to death.

i also hope nothing like this happens to you (or anyone) again!

I've had a few people carriers do this, loaded with the kids - just push out...likewise I was covering the brakes, and fortunately I'd stopped on these occasions...

As said, honest mistake, and the driver probably feels like carp, especially with a tyre print permanently in his door.
