@Archie_tect No end in sight! Also figured that the 25 minutes walking to the station and then catching the train into town could be better spent cycling the route instead. Additionally, that can make sure I get the earlier Derby train, when local trains dont start early enough to connect. Which gives me an earlier evening and more time with little one.

Things are looking up!

Week 1 (day 2 - I was getting a bit ahead of myself), and being back on the bike is FANTASTIC!!!!:hyper:.

Forgot how brilliant it is to be moving under your own steam and mixing with the cars. What a buzz it is to arrive out of breath, lungs, ribs and legs aching, and knowing that you have given it all you have. To push it hard, suffer, and recover.

If anyone who is reading this is thinking about taking up commuting by bike, DO IT!!!

Now I've just got to add a weekly Burton to Derby (or reverse) to the weekly schedule and I'll be as happy as you can get. I can't believe how much happier, livelier and better I feel.

Will be back to my 6-mile commute in Mid March. Only two more weeks of this left.
Which means I have to fit in one more 50 mile ride home soon, or loose the chance forever.
