Ride It Like You Stole It!

One of many taking the longer way home last night. From Manchester centre up the ashton canal and then out along the Peak and Forest Canal (many the forest section) through to Marple. I've done it a couple of times before, the forest section is just wonderful riding, smooth grit easy riding beautiful views (no photos sorry). wildlife abundant fish in the canal, goslings etc, and a long bosh back down the A6 home - the latter started to feel tiring. 27 mile.

Warm this morning but very still air, so actually very pleasant.

Oi, who let you in my hunting grounds ! ;)

A fine morning, still alive and not been blown up by Trump's shenanigans !

Mr Illegal e-bike got his ass whooped this morning - obviously wasn't keen to pedal too hard as I pushed him yesterday. Just passed him, not to be seen again. Nearly came a cropper though. Approaching a T junction, I was in the middle of the road to turn right. Guy exits the Fallowfield loop on my left, crosses pavement, into road and pedals straight into my path. Just 'assumed' I'd turn left, rather than ride straight on. Mumble mumble from me, and a profuse apology from him. I did take it easy this morning with the heat, only 1 minute slower than yesterday. Going flat out, or pacing doesn't make much difference.

Yet I am looking forward to it. I'm one of those weirdos who loves cycling in hot weather. Just have to take it a little bit easier.
Going to be even hotter tomorrow and I'm cycling the full 27 miles home. Glorious.

Yes, I like cycling in hot weather too.

My first ever 50 mile ride, which was also my first time climbing the Bwlch was during a heatwave with temperatures reaching 35C, and I really enjoyed the ride.

I'm not going to get on the bike for the next few days though. Morris Dancing after work today, then all day Saturday and most of Sunday in and around Evesham. By the time I get home on Sunday evening, it will be a bit late (and I'll be fairly knackered). And I'll be traveling to Evesham after work tomorrow after WFH. So Monday is the earliest I might get chance for a ride.

So much for getting up early and stopping for a coffee on route. The train in the middle was cancelled and I'm now on a later one 😕

Nice day otherwise and the train is packed with bikes.

I can't believe how generous the space is for those bikes, compared to EMR at least.
I guess you need to ask other bikers when they're getting off if you board at the same station, to make it easier to get your bike when you leave.
