As long as I breathe, I attack.
Well anyone would think it was autumn this "morning ' which I use in the loosest sense of the word.Set off for work at 4.15 am and it was time for the full beam lights and chilly enough for arm/legwarmers and a gilet

Heated argument with a car driver this morning apologies to anyone who lives in Lundwood Barnsley if they heard the commotion! Heading upto the lights at Cundy Cross before dropping down to Lundwood I moved right over to one side to let a wagon and two cars past. Further down the hill the wagon and two cars are parked up at the next set of lights, plenty of space down the side of the two cars for me to wait behind the wagon. As I came down the last car in the queue (pale blue Audi) looks in his mirror and pulls his car over to the kerb to stop me passing. No reaction from me luckily had enough space to coast past and parked up waiting for the lights to change. Next thing I hear a horn blasting and the Audi driver calling me every name under the sun about my manouver. Normally I stay calm but we had a bit of a Mexican stand off with a fair few expletives from us both. Stupidly on my part I'd gone behind the 1st car and blocked the Audi with my bike (not a good idea) driver sped off around my bike and shot down the road. Lucky he didn't run straight over the bike and me looking back on it! Turned up to work and low and behold the wagon driver was delivering to my place, he just smiled and nodded!

Wouldnt normally bother venturing out in the rain where I live its a magnet for all the Deekheads, self-centered road hogs. Amazing hour a bit of rain can bring them out. Change tatics this morning as knew needed a different mentaility cycling in the rain. Took the centre of the road let all the over takers ( there were a few) do what they wanted to do and put their car in danger, If I could see a dangerous part of the road coming up I moved right to the line. Probably pisses a few drivers off but at least that way you can control your saftery in traffic. Best pass of the day less than 10 feet from a roundabout you would have to stop at anyway. If you are reading this you prick can you let me know what you achieved in donig this as I filtered pastt you with a one haded saulte as the next set of traiffic lights.

First wet commute in a while, which is about the only thing of note as it was quite straightforward again.

Nearly had a nasty accident this morning. Heading along the Greenway in East London, a squirrel on the grass at side of path was spooked by my presence and decided to escape from my presence....by running across the path, missing my front wheel by about an inch.

I thought Tufty taught road safety

they have no road safety sense they are only in it for the nuts.

A few days off last week, and uneventful riding this - missed all the rain apart from the odd spot last night. Still enjoying the empty roads of the summer holidays, hopefully next week too.

I think you're onto something... I seem to report more dodgy passes when it is raining. Inexplicable given how slippery the roads are.

OT rant. I never really understood the meteorological thing. The equinox is on the 22nd of September, so for most of September it is still summer in the northern hemisphere. The excuse is to have meteorological seasons align with the calendar, but given the dates of solstices and equinoxes it would make more sense to align meteorological autumn to 1st of October, with an offset of only 8 days to the real season start.
