I saw more in the short stretch between euston and waterloo than I'd see in an hour of commuting in Manchester. Nice smooth wide lanes too, not the hand laid boneshaker tarmac we get up here!
Some of the London cycle lanes are superb. The one along the Embankment and the one from London Bride all the way to Greenwich are especially good. At a lot of central London junctions and bridges over the Thames, at certain times of the day there are more bikes then motor vehicles.
. The promptly turned around shouting " were the leccy boys " and rode off back the way they came. Hard to tell in the dark but the motor and battery looked like the usual illegal kits you get and bung on a cheap MTB .
