More then people ever imagine.

I saw more in the short stretch between euston and waterloo than I'd see in an hour of commuting in Manchester. Nice smooth wide lanes too, not the hand laid boneshaker tarmac we get up here!

Some of the London cycle lanes are superb. The one along the Embankment and the one from London Bride all the way to Greenwich are especially good. At a lot of central London junctions and bridges over the Thames, at certain times of the day there are more bikes then motor vehicles.

Stop rubbing it in.

Flat as a pancake, been pushing my luck with how well worn the back tyre was so fitted the new Continental at work today. Working at 2 different glass sites definitely has it's drawbacks.

Not very nice. Bad enough that I wore the cape, thought it might be a bit gusty for that but- and this is amazing- I had a mostly following wind.

Well that was grim.
I decided to stay on the train for a couple more stops. Still got soaked through for the rest of the journey though. Looks like the rain is passing through the SE by noon leaving for a dry ride home.

Rainy commute #8 for the year
Same period last year 1 rainy commute

As long as I breathe, I attack.
In the car anyway today as dropping mrs ck off for a hospital appointment later on the way to work and she will get an uber home .
Last night was windy enough but at least it was dry but got up this morning and its blowing a gale and chucking it down so i doubt i would have risked it anyway .
I was close to home last night when i saw a couple of bikes coming the other way with e bike mod kits on 2 youths on one and one on the other , they saw me and turned around and followed me as i slogged up a steep section asking if i was struggling .I told them as least i wasnt idle  . The promptly turned around shouting " were the leccy boys " and rode off back the way they came. Hard to tell in the dark but the motor and battery looked like the usual illegal kits you get and bung on a cheap MTB .

Not a commute as suxch, but rode to where I am working today ( home). Sadly I set off too late so ride was not only wet, but it was done with the full force of the school run.
Rules of the road do not seem to apply. Those yellow no parking lines outside a school apply to everyone but those dropping off their kids, then after dropping off the kids, you do a u turn in road without bothering to worry about passing traffic you pull out in front of.
