As long as I breathe, I attack.
unashamed to say i have been in the car this week as my arthritis in my fingers and knee has been painful to the point where even painkillers and volatarol only just take the edge off .

Wetter than wet rain this morning. Felt one boot getting damp from the heal. Looks like my trousers were tucked into the cuff on the boot so as water ran down the back of my leg, it dripped in the boot. One soggy foot at work.

Note left on drying cabinet plug not to be switched off today. Someone usually switches off mid morning, whih is fine for sweatty gear, not for soaked stuff.

Grey but not raining, overcame a narrow country road blocked with obstinate drivers not sharing nicely, two close passes by drivers lacking any foresight (warning letter level not prosecution level). A good ride.

Grim this morning. First fully wet commute for many months due to being a lazy git and having the option to WFH.
Nearly took the car but the traffic was grimmer than the weather.

Next week is going to be fun for us from the South and East of Manchester. No trains at all. I've got to drive on Wednesday as daughter has a late finish at Uni, so might roll into work late, if I can. Otherwise will need caution as the roads will be manic.

Predictably the journey home in the car last night was thoroughly miserable stop-start hell, and probably took as long as it would have on the bike. At least it did have the positive of reminding me of the horrors I no longer have to endure on a daily basis.

This morning was mediocre at best; leaving tired and ratty with the weather mild and dry-ish. Straight out onto the main road to abuse a van driver coming the other way who overtook a cyclist he was following as we were pretty much passing each other - so really leaving neither of us as much room as he should have.

A needless manouvre when he could have waited all of five seconds to pass on a clear road tbh I've bcome that dickhead-weary now I can often no longer tell if my reactions are proportionate / appropriate; having become hypersensitive to even the smallest instances of twattery.. which isn't a nice way to be.

Rest of the journey was OK although I had to take the roads all the way thanks to the flooded tow paths and the rain set in fairly resolutely as I neared the office so my (thankfully lightweight / easy-drying) trousers got saturated.

On the up-side today's sausages were fantastic and while I'm hardly saturated with glee to be existing I'm no doubt in a better place than I would have been without the time in the saddle.

The main route water takes to my socks is from wicking downwards. Very occasionally I use a cape and my feet stay dry much longer.
