Where are you from wafter? I don't think nowt is part of the Oxon vernacular!
It is now
Legend has it my paternal grandparents cycled through the night on a tandem from Derbyshire to escape my paternal great-grandparents so maybe there's a bit left
Congratulations and all the best for the future.
Keep posting on this forum - you've helped me (and others too no doubt) particularly in the Repairs section.
Absolutely - I'd have posted similar in response to
@roubaixtuesday's post - an epic achievement and sounds like a retirement well-deserved. I suspect after all that time the last one will probably be quite a profound experience!
Not much of note this morning. Awoke early as usual, got up, elected to defer the hair wash so had a relaxed morning and managed to squeeze in the washing up and a bit of a tidy before departure.
Still overcast but markedly warmer this morning. Stopped for a third time to peruse the free gifts on the grass in front of the gorgeous mid-century house up the road that's evidently having a clear-out pre-move; having just sold for the fat end of a million quid... thankfully nothing I wanted.
A brisk ride into town thanks to the usual tailwind, traffic was pretty static so while I made better time than the cars it was punctuated by having to regularly duck in to wait for oncoming traffic.
Sausages didn't look so great this morning so I only had two, although they turned out to be far more crisp and delicious than anticpated.
Coming out of the depths of winter I'm now being reminded of how beneficial these morning rides are - not just from the perspective of being less-bad than the misery of taking the car, but also serving to really improve my often far-from-splendid mood after waking to the prospect of dragging my reluctant, dysfunctional corpse through another day
