Bit sweaty but not mad heat and this afternoon looks OK but with showers.
Didn't feel like riding due to lack of sleep with my shoulder. It's worse than a broken pelvis.

Nice ride in today in the warm, took me 30 mins to stop perspiring when I got to work though. One close pass from a LR Defender, I could have grabbed onto the little ladder on the side for a tow. Otherwise very pleasant indeed.
I was riding along the A6 in Leicester yesterday approaching a group of uni students on my left.
For some reason they thought it'd be a good idea to line up on the edge of the kerb and salute me as I went past. I was totally flummoxed by it all, and just did what anyone else would do in this situation - I saluted back!

Fitting the road bike with mountain bike bars might have been a mistake. I used to put my head down and buzz along the side of the road in relative discomfort but at a good speed, now I find myself tossing the bike around and riding like a total punk. I’m not as fast or as efficient but it’s much more comfortable and a ton of fun.

Very dim this morning, you can tell the sunrise is getting later.knee still not right but a lot better than it was so I can see me going back to the docs if it doesn't clear up.
Overcast but mercifully cool and fresh this morning; although the humidity had already tangibly ramped up by the time I'd got to work.
Saw miss bispecticled billowy-dress again today, along with the altist - today on a big long cargo bike
Unremarkable but pleasant; oddly feeling a bit less knackered despite the ongoing lack of sleep (maybe the weather wasn't helping) - looking forward to a fresh, sunny, long waft home with some rings content
Edit: The ride home was indeed sublime; wafting out to Yarnton in the cooler evening air to join the tow path and find an old boy trimming the hedge - maybe me from the future caught in some bizarre infinite time loop... he seemed more intent on trimming little bits rather than lopping off the monster canes, but still got a few words of encouragement.
I think the weather finally breaking and killing the humidity has really perked people up; with so many nice interactions with people as we passed
Stopped at the park for a bit of a beating on the rings and a good ten minutes of stretching; feeling loose, relaxed and comfortable when back on the bike.
Back home for a butcher's burger and salad with a big chunk of cheese, some tasty vine-ripened cherry tomatos and the last of my 33p coleslaw score which was sublime and felt well-earned. Now airing the flat with every conceivable aperture wide open and mulling some strawberries and kefir for dessert.
Fleeting as always no doubt, but a very welcome reprieve from the lingering grottyness of late.

out on road bike today, no energy, gave tues and wed a miss. Cylced home monday didnt feel to great so thought two days of the bike might make me feel better, just seem to lethargic, no idiots this morning just headwind and slow cycling on my part. Made it into work thats all that counts. Looking forward to cooler weekend will be out on bike this weekend looking foward to ride to Richmond Park.

Road bikes aren't designed for flat bars. Flat barred bikes usually have a longer top tube to compensate for the shorter reach.

Decent day yesterday - damp roads am, but pleasant afternoon. Decided to keep behind a chap on a leccy folder last night as I was riding into a headwind and was just about doing 15-17 mph, so eased off as this bloke wasn't particularly traffic aware and was jumping lights.

These are early type mountain bike bars With quite a bit of rise. Combined with a slightly shorter stem they give an upright seating position that is really comfortable. It’s the most fun bike I’ve ridden since my 1982 Norco mountain bike!

Dry and clear this morning although I was back in arm and leg warmer plus gilet as it was close to single figure temps. Managed to get out of the saddle gingerly so hopefully the knee is on the mend.
Minor altercation with a driver this morning. I was on my usual route when a car just behind me starts beeping, presumably because I was in front and the driver wanted to get past. There was enough space to do that - or just hang back a few secs until the road widens, as some drivers do. When the car finally overtook, there was some traffic lights ahead. I thought please please stay on red I want to have a word with the driver. Stayed on red, I made sure driver looked at me and I said in a calm but firm voice 'what's your problem? what's your problem?'. Blanked me - amazing how sheepish they become when they're stuck at lights.
Interesting setup, what make/brand is the frame? I don't recognise the badge on the front.
