Calmed down alot this morning and a pleasant ride. Even more so with new chain ring, cassette, chain and rear pads. Long overdue replacement. Squeaky rear canti brakes gone.

Last night's ride was a pleasant antidote to the evening before with a good session on the rings and a waft to the shops. Pub planned afterwards however I was predictably rinsed so stayed in once back to the flat.
This morning; again bright and clear if conspicuously chilly; made the right decision to wear trousers for the first time in a long time. Was passed by a van driver who was notably considerate - the novel, palpable lack of anxiety made me sad to think how cynical and defensive we have to be by default; and consider how nice the world would be if everyone exercised an appropriate amount of thought and respect for others.
Got overtaken by, and subsequently chased a racing snake but he was flat out faster than me so I gave up. Smashed it up St. Aldates and probably came close to a PR were it not for having to negotiate that stationary traffic at the top; hitting high 80s on the HRM before I had to slow.
The top end of my heart rate seems more achievable / regularly visited since I started on the creatine, although perhaps it's just confirmation bias. Maybe I'll check my records when I get back.

Sadly though they have the ability to remain in my mind for much longer.. along with the potential regret regarding my own behaviour for how I might have handled whatever situation better..
Today's ride home was crap - knackered, pissed off after work and roasting in my initially-sound trouser choice I battled my way out of town; suffering again at the hands of the abysmal "cycling infrastructre" as some knobhead pulled across / stopped in the cycle lane to turn left in front of me for the second time in a week..
This was only a few minutes after the Fuji made its most sincere bid yet to kill me; ghost-shifting right on the down-stroke while I was out of the saddle hammering it past traffic - thankfully I stayed on but felt pretty close to turning my face to corned-beef on the tarmac..

got up felt like hell on earth, probably over done thought about sitting in the car and all the extra traffic caused by tempoary traffic llights so jumped on the bike. Lovely morning, felt like no wind, a bit cloudy and virtually no traffic. According to strava hit 15.6 average on the way in first time done that in over a week.

Lovely wind assisted ride in. I turned up the road just as someone swept past so had a wheel to draft for a bit before they jumped a red light and were gone. Tempted to follow, but thought better of it! Last night felt fine too, a still evening.

I'm slowly getting my 'local legend' Strava bits back due to being very broken earlier in the year, but hey ho. Eased off on the way home and kept the gears spinning on the 'tank'. Easing off is still only 2 minutes slower...
Had to laugh at the fella in his RS6 Estate ragging it from the lights, for me to catch and pass. The car does sound mint though !! Mega money engine if not looked after....

Out last weekend had a cabbie tell me should be in the cycle lane and a car tailgate me for a mile telling me I shouldnt be on the road.
Cycled in to work all fine until got to final road before work. Withou going into to much detail first time I have reported anyone to police, so lets see how big you are once they contact you.

On my way into the office today, discovered that the bloke living in a trailer/tent in a strip of woodland beside the Railway Path had probably had enough and torched it...
When I stopped to take this , bloke shot past at some speed, probably 30mph+ on an escooter...going uphill. I hope some daffy minister in Govt doesn't decide to legalise the lasted things. We ban 30 mph mopeds from cyclepaths.
