yeah it bugs me to hell some eejit managed to drop a glass bottle on the cycle path outside our work, of course only on the cycle path and not the footpath bit...and Im sure it was accidental:whistle:... it was all clumped together originally so you could avoid it but seems to have spread out as the days have gone on, plus weve got aload of acorns and debris off trees to contend with on it too.

I clean up trash in my neighbourhood every morning as I walk, so rather than ignore it - knowing that the cretin who dropped it will not come back to pick it up - I pick it up, easy enough and it looks better after I do. A simple brush and dustpan can be used to remove glass.

Directly home after work to best limit further topping migration on the two reduced posh co-op pizzas acquired at the end of play and squirrelled away vertically in my panniers..

Mused upon going out again; it was a lovely night and I really needed some coleslaw to go with my score so off it was to Waitrose. Arrived in a bizarrely good mood and was pleasantly surprised to find a reasonable amount of reduced stuff despite the relatively early hour.

On the way back I took a detour out of the city through Wytham and Wolvercote then back in along the tow path. Home now after a really nice ride, enjoying an alcohol-free Guinness and some Pink Floyd while waiting for my reduced beer-battered haddock to cook; a bit smug that I find this and some broccoli more appealing than a pizza currently.

About 26 nice miles today

which in theory is a nice idea, but I counted on the way in today theres probably half a dozen broken glasses/bottles, indicator/brake lights, bits of debris Id need to clear up. Maybe it doesnt make me seem community spirited, but I dont really see its my job to clear up the mess others are leaving.

fair enough when someone dropped a glass on the road outside my house, yes I got my brush and dustpan out to clean it up as it was specifically in my interest to do so as I was most likely to suffer punctures from leaving it, but Im not really prepared to do it elsewhere.

I have a large oak tree in my front garden every year i used to clean up the leaves and pile them up for the council until dog walkers started to let their dog do their business iin it. You would them watch children jumping in. Most people just think whats the point once you clean it up a week later there will be more glass there.

Left home 6.20am this morning third morning on trott all lights have been on, felt colder this monring so had wooly hat covering up whats left o hair. National work from home day hardly a car on the road nice straight forward ride in with little to no agro. This time last year my legs would be aching as we reach Thursday today not evern a twinge.

I feel the same. On the one hand I'm very happy to contribute to maintaining my surroundings for the greater good (I've spent a lot of time trimming brambles on the tow paths and cycle tracks round here) however I bitterly resent spending my time clearing up the result of others' selfishness / stupidity, or doing jobs that should be paid for by our taxes.

I think I could get a lot more on board if this work was more focussed on addressing the issue at source - i.e. disposing of those causing the litter themselves, rather than simply what these worthless morons leave behind.

Nice bright, crispy, sunny morning for the commute. Unlike @markharry66 I didn't realise it was National work from home day. It made no difference to the traffic on my route. In fact, it seemed to be busier then it has been all week.

It would be nice if there were no 'morons' around, but humans being the selfish creatures they are, I am positive there will be no reduction in their numbers anytime soon. So, in the meantime, in order for my streets to look reasonably tidy, I continue to pick up rubbish deposited by the cretins, every day.

As long as I breathe, I attack.
Off the bike as my knee has been playing up. Totally out of the blue but there is no way I can ride with it.

gws
I have got a referral to my private health care for my ongoing knee problems which has now morphed into being able to ride ok as long as i dont give it full gas all the time but stairs hurt or deep squats hurt .

nice ride in fully in the dark lights on full blast all 4 on the front plus one on the hat seems to get you noticed. Hardly any traffic. The road they dug up last month they must have got bored digging up as they have started at the other end nothing like a bit of change always does you good nice long tail back this morning. Temporary traffic light in place and not a workman to be seen anywhere, Still as long as you are p*ss*ing people off what does it matter. Over did it with clothing again this moring could of acutually ridden to work instead its was boll in the bag hi-vix and hat was plastered in sweat when got to work. Fastest time in of the week not sure how as spent most of it sitting at trafic lights.
