Well, I managed 3 return bicycle commutes for the first time in too long, so about 165km for the week. It's a start...
Blimey...I was wondering only the other day where our Antipodean chum was and here you pop up.

Going up the last little rise, out of the saddle, and CLUNK!!!! Drive train seized completely, stopped for an inspection. Became apparent that the non drive side crank was wobbling, but drive side was firmish. I assumed the spindle had cracked and limped the three thankfully flat miles home one legged but still riding.
Sure enough:

Well I finally had something to report this evening other than the weather/ train's. You guessed it, a SMIDSY. Ive had it a couple of times in the last 14years here. Its a bit of an oversized junction with the main road on a bend and folk pull out from the minor road (New Road). Obviously moving your eyes 5deg to see the cyclist coming straight at you in the primary position with too bright lights (a 500lumens flashing & 800lumens solid) is too much effort 🙄

Bit late, but passed through London on the way south last week - so many cyclists!

Chilly start to the week. Not helped by having a hip injury that made it painful every time I stopped . Grumpy cyclist alert
Had an interesting encounter with a cyclist riding the wrong way along a segregated cycle lane. He got most upset and swore at me for not moving my line to get out of his way!
Then there were the numerous cyclists who seem to be immune from red lights and just continue to bimble their way across crossroads with lights against them or scattering pedestrians on crossings.
its no wonder that some motorists have a low opinion of cyclists.

Slow, as on the MTB today whilst waiting parts for the commuter.
But a treat - for the first time in 27 years of current commuting route, a fallow deer raced across the road right in front of me.
