Had a great commute back home yesterday. Gentle tail wind for my 30 miler and the amount of layers I was wearing was 100% inline with the weather / temperature, I was lovely and warm all the way

It said 8° at 7am this morning when I left home. But the wind made it feel much colder. I didn't take any gloves so my fingers were close to being too cold. Just had to cycle that little bit faster to get the blood pumping to warm up the body.
Gotta love half term and a day before a bank holiday. Literally no traffic on the roads. Fab.

I had winter gloves , windproof and toe covers on and I didn't get sweaty. It was forecast 4-5 c and it felt colder in places as the car windscreens were covered in white dew .

My disc brake Carrera vanquish comes in a good kilo lighter and the weekend bike more like 3.5 kg lighter!

Doesn't sound terrible! In my Fuji's defense that is with a rack and 32mm tyres.. it's certainly no TdF contender but did enable me to recover (amongst other things) 4. 4 litres of Guinness and 1.6kg of mayonnaise from the shop last night

That's a lot of mayonnaise - do you use it as tyre sealant ?

ok
had a look at it at last
mech hanger snapped
rear derailleur arm bent
wheelset 622x12 36 spokes over 3 kg weight
alloy fork
tourney front derailleur with frayed cables
shifters 2200 (?) missing shifter window
crankset 52/ 38
42 cm bars, bar tape ripped
saddle had a rip on the corner
After a little thought i have left it out for the scrap man as i would need to spend a fair chunk to get it rideable
