Tales from today's commute....

Just under 10°at 7am, ok for shorts but donned a windcheater and long finger gloves. Sunny clear blue skies though the wind made it feel colder and made for a little bit tough going. Traffic was a mare. Pretty backed up every where. Thank fark for bus lanes.

Was 6C leaving home, as usual dropped by 2-3 degrees by Peterstone, was 4C with a biting (Easterly) headwind for a large part of my journey in.

Forecast is for the wind to stay pretty well the same for a few days, so should at least have a tail wind home, and it was a lot warmer outside when we had afire drill an hour ago.

Coming in this morning to work, got passed by guy on overclocked ebike. A fag-packet mental calculation based on distance travelled (you can see about a quarter of a mile straight on) and time put him doing about 40mph....on a cycle path. Getting fed up of these muppets now. No regards for anyone's safety, the 'get out of my way' attitude.....

Why are these bikes even legal? I don't get it. Government could get them banned overnight if they had the will to.

They are not legal. Max speed of a pedal assist bike is 15.5mph.

They are not legal to use on public roads and byways.

They can legally be used on private land (with the permission of the landowner of course).

The problem is that they are not legal, they are not. The problem is that they don't get confiscated and crushed as they should.
