Just under 10°at 7am, ok for shorts but donned a windcheater and long finger gloves. Sunny clear blue skies though the wind made it feel colder and made for a little bit tough going. Traffic was a mare. Pretty backed up every where. Thank fark for bus lanes.

Positively tropical

Was 6C leaving home, as usual dropped by 2-3 degrees by Peterstone, was 4C with a biting (Easterly) headwind for a large part of my journey in.

Forecast is for the wind to stay pretty well the same for a few days, so should at least have a tail wind home, and it was a lot warmer outside when we had afire drill an hour ago.

Coming in this morning to work, got passed by guy on overclocked ebike. A fag-packet mental calculation based on distance travelled (you can see about a quarter of a mile straight on) and time put him doing about 40mph....on a cycle path. Getting fed up of these muppets now:cursing:. No regards for anyone's safety, the 'get out of my way' attitude.....

Why are these bikes even legal? I don't get it. Government could get them banned overnight if they had the will to.

Another Tube strike day (must be the first strike in history where employees are striking against working less days and having more days off work). A commute from my home to my place of work ( my home).

1. Glorious weather
2. Light breeze
3. Enjoyable ride
4. Lots of people on roads who are not normally there
5. Impatient motorists - obviously not allowed extra time for their journey taking into account the strike
6. Red lights mean nothing - so many cyclists ignoring them, even when vehicles or pedestrians are crossing their path - in some instances forcing pedestrians to take avoiding action
7. ed lights mean nothing - so many motorists ignoring them. At one point I came across traffic lights at road works meaning single alternate line traffic. When our light turned to green, we could not move because the motorists on the other side just ignored their red light and continued to drive through the road works

Still it was good to get a nice 20 miles in before work

As long as I breathe, I attack.
Nearly blown off today on the way to work as I raised my arm to indicate and was hit by a very strong side gust that made me loose control for a second till I could get my hand back on the bar . At the time I was going downhill on an a road with a lot of trash so it could have been nasty.

incredible head wind this morning and i regretted wearing bib shorts. Obviously coming home it was 17 C, wind behind me so instead of the normal 3-1/2 miles I pushed out to 12.

the thing I dont understand is the thought process these kind of riders have, I had one last week on a narrow shared path that I was riding slowly on because there were pedestrians about who were obviously a risk if they stepped in front, and this guy came around me at such a rate of knots, drifted on to the grass as I think he didnt read what I was doing (suppose I shoould be thankful he didnt just ride into me) slid back on the path, pedestrians are left thinking wtf is going on and off they zoom and Im left as the one who gets the "damn cyclists" look, had that a number of times with these types of ebike riders.

and Im just like at what point does riding like that way compute in your brain thats reasonable, its bad enough on shared paths at 10-12mph, as there are always people doing unpredictable things and you need to be constantly on guard to stop or avoid crashing, so how can you not see the danger of riding at 2x, 3x or more faster.

but then I had to laugh when I saw another one at the weekend, whose chain was just completely loose, so I presume motor hub or wheel driven somehow, and dropped off the chainring, but it was soo loose it was dangling and swaying around the rear wheel/cassette etc, like they arent even smart enough to go oh that might be dangerous Ill fix that, as I suspect they are going to have a phenomenal crash if that chain locks into something and theyre smashing it along at 30mph motor power.
