Reading through some replies on here, I must be incredibly lucky or forgiving when it comes to car drivers. I get a few close passes and the very rare aggressive overtake but never enough to panic me or get me wound up.

I'm in a very similar position to you.

Do get very occasional close passes, but they really aren't common.

Common occurrence between junctions 6 and 4A of the M5.

I find it is quite random. I had a couple of rides in April where I had reportable bad passes, but nothing since.

I notice that here as well. We had a mobile unit parked in the village last week, and it was amazing how drivers would slow down when they saw it. Not that everyone did, as the speed cameras are hidden and painted green...

Back on the 2-wheeled commute now the Weather is a little more pleasant again. And it did not disappoint today. As ever: what a stunning way to start the day. A Friday. And a Bank Hol Weekend 😍

Traffic in places where I usually don't see it and Marie Celeste in others. Must be a bank holiday weekend coming up. It looks a beauty, I'm off, but I haven't made any plans!

Off today so no commute. Couldn't have chosen a better day so off for a ride for food and beer later with a couple of good chums

I fancied a longer commute tonight but the trains were in a mess a lot cancelled and a lot running late that would probably be cancelled so I went straight to the Station as national train enquiries said one was running. I then thought about getting off the train a stop early but didn't fancy the roundabout of death in Huntingdon. Both options would have gave me a massive tailwind. I still fancied a longer commute but that meant about 2/3 headwind.

Apart from the glorious weather and the strong but warm wind the only thing to report was getting heckled by a car full of drunk kids (I hope the driver was at least sober). After heckling me they cut into the two car length gap in front of me and sat right up the @rse of that car. They refused to go any faster and when they got to a roundabout they stopped for ages. On hindsight I think they had saw me getting heckled by thand held back and stopped deliberately so I could overtake. But I had decided to sit behind the kid's car. The kid turned left when the other car eventually moved and I was going straight, so I could have safely overtook.

Edit just looked at the log, the bike has racked up 1,000 mile this year (17,600 in total since I built it in Dec 2014 , and it was in storage from Feb 2019 to Apr 2022).

sharing is caring but just an insight into how often women commuter cyclists have to work abit harder to be office presentable, than their male colleagues
