oh dear, what did you do yesterday? i know you tumbled shortly after you left @jefmcg on a ride and ended up rather bad but that was a while ago?
you WILL manage 2,500 miles with ease!
Cheers Ed
A poorly judged left turn from lights, caught clumpy foot on mudguard, managed to somehow stay on feet but pedal whacked the lump on leg as it fell...scratched pedal, no other damage to bike so no harm done lol!

I did 2457 miles last year so should better that

Good thread.
My target was to train well enough to complete L2P in September. I did this with no problem at all which I'm very happy with. My next target is to up my training this winter.... Either on the turbo trainer or the road regardless of weather. And come next year I am aiming to do a century ride every month and lots of sportives. And also book another expedition for 2016

None of my hurty's are down to jefmcg, one a car, two my own ineptitude (although number two was possibly down to another cyclist cutting across me)

Like @Rickshaw Phil my goal this year was the metric century a month challenge. Like @Rickshaw Phil i am right at the bottom. I think I've only managed two months where I've done more than one 100k ride. People on the challenge who've done 40 centuries are really not in the spirit of it, I think.

Other goals were to ride in the Alps, which a bad back has probably put paid to, get down to 13 stone, which I might do, and spend less money on bikes, at which I have failed so miserably its a joke.

I'm ahead of schedule for my mileage target of 5000. Was on course for 6000 at one point, but I've eased off a bit these last couple of weeks.

Another goal was to start time trialling, and I had a target of 30 minutes for a 10. Finished the season with a 25:04!

I wanted to average 22mph over at least 20 miles, current best is 21.8mph and to be honest the opportunity for suitable riding is getting slimmer, so that one may roll over to next year.

The other goal for the year is 100 miles in five hours, so a 20mph ave. Previous 100 mile ride was on a windy day, which somewhat thwarted it all, averaged 19mph and needed to eat more. Another 100 miler next weekend. If it isn't too windy, I'll see how I get on...

As for total mileage , I didn't set an over target for the year, currently at around 4,500, so possibly 6,000 if it is suitable weather in Nov and Dec. if not, I am guessing it will get to around 5,500ish

I'm targeting stage 1 of the tdf (ON MY OWN) by the spring 2015,Currently maxing out at 30 miles for now! I'll slowly build up my miles over the next six months and see where I am by April, and hope by then I'm fit enough to attempt stage 1!
I need to keep motivated, I haven't even looked at the route, I think I'll look at driving it in the car asap, to see what's what and if I can achieve it :ohmy:s
