Well, I've done it! I have reached my target of 2000 miles this year, all leisure and no commuting. Quite chuffed really and when I told my wife, all she said was "Oh" and that was it.
When her son won a small golf club tournament, she was all over him! I guess I know my place.

Big well done from me!!! I told my wife that I was nearly there with my target...her reply..."Does that mean you won't be going out on the bike as much once you've finished?"

She's very supportive

3765 miles done, out of a target of 4k.
This months weather has killed off any slim chance I had of reaching target. Did slightly better than last year though, which ended at 3697.
Next year, who knows. I am of a mind to scrap any kind of target, as I don't know that it does any good. Especially given that I am a good half stone heavier than this time last year .

As mentioned on another thread, I am going to miss my target of 3000 miles this year thanks to a combination of illness, weather conditions and a pulled knee. The question is how much by? Currently on 2600 miles and I hope to get in a couple more rides before the end of the month.

There have been some great rides this year and I've racked up quite a few personal firsts which I really enjoyed, so not bothered about missing the target really.

As for next year, I'll give 3000 miles another go and see what happens.

Set mine as 3000 for the year- my first cycling target, and I'm so nearly there, 9 days to go but still 92 miles :S
Problem is 2200 of my miles were commuting and I'm not in work any more this year so doubt in this weather with all the family down I will be able to get to my target- sob. Better luck next year.
Just somehow managed to sneak in 29 and only got hailed on torrentially once- with 63 to go I am keeping an eye on a long sunday run and an evening spin Mon/ Tues. FYI my longest ride to date is only 35 miles, so to polish it off in one go would be a push.

31 miles to go to hit my revised target of 6641 (up from 5000). Hoping to do this tomorrow.

Last year I did 6640, which was double my 2011 mileage of 3320.
Wow! That's great work! Did wonder why such a random number for the target before I read the whole post :-)

Target completed with a couple of days to spare :-) Now I just need to think of a good excuse to explain to the other half why I need to go out tomorrow for a ride!

This year is the first time for years that I've tried to cycle regularly throughout the year, I was hoping to get average 100km a week. but only reached a total just over 3500km. Next year, I'd like to double that.
