Maybe can increase the budget a bit?

It's a strict budget and looking at a 6k budget the choice doesn't get much better
We found a Quashqai earlier tonight but the garage are not open over the weekend , do they want to sell it or not i ask

I wouldn’t buy an old leggy diesel on a limited budget!

Neither would I. Nissan's have reputation to grenade older diesel turbo engines

Qashqai, they blow up sometimes around 60k upwards.. my neighbour had one fully serviced. Nissan wanted £11k for new engine. He got a used engine, cost him £5k by local garage-sold it on immediately

It's one of those things, you never seem to hear until it happens to you. Then you find a whole world of blown engines.

Thinking back in the early 2000s I had a Subaru Impreza turbo, which I had tuned at a company called APi. They also did warranty work for Toyota, Nissan etc. I remember him telling me the Navara would only last 40k then all sorts of problems would destroy the engines.

Spent the afternoon looking at a Juke and a Mazda 3 looks like the juke hit the spot , i kept pushing the Mazda put it just didn't have the image required.

I know which one i would choose all day long

I'd go for a petrol Nissan over a Diesel. Both our petrol Nissans have been utterly reliable, the Qashqai is now 10 years old, and my Primera is 22 !

Freind of mine went for a Juke over a yeti or Tiguan etc because she could buy newer and wanted a life time car! 🤔🤣

I didn't persuade her as she's quite strong willed.

As a Mazda owner , I assume at £5 or 6k its going to be a pre 2013 model ? Watch out for worn timing chains, it kills them. Same with the 6.

It was 2011 model and a lot of engines have gone back to chains and most times it's the guides and or tensioners that fail causing the damage and quite often they made from plastic so go very brittle quickly.
