Spent the afternoon looking at a Juke and a Mazda 3 looks like the juke hit the spot , i kept pushing the Mazda put it just didn't have the image required.

I know which one i would choose all day long

I think she has gone home to decide

It is a while ago now, but, we owned a series of Mazda's, 2 * Mazda 2; 3 * Mazda 3; and a Mazda MX5. one of the 3's was a diesel, the rest were petrol, all did high mileage, and, all were utterly reliable.

It was 2011 model and a lot of engines have gone back to chains and most times it's the guides and or tensioners that fail causing the damage and quite often they made from plastic so go very brittle quickly.
Google BMW 1 series and have a read

Yep , some manufacturers seem to suffer more than others, my SIL is a garage mechanic and while talking to him one day at work, I glanced across at a hulking great engine sat on a pallet, whats the deal with that I asked. Chain guides gone, took the engine out. He showed me the damaged parts. BMW in that case. Colleague had a 5 series go as well....shortly after another ery knowledgeable colleague told him he needed to get it done, he could hear the tell tale sounds from the engine.
Again, as with many cars nowadays, regular oil changes will help prevent this enormously.

Writing the above answer reminded me of the time many years ago when I worked at a Toyota main dealership and one of our female customers came in asking her favourite sales man to keep an eye out for late MK2 MR2 but it had to be in a plain and easy on the eye colour as she didn't like being looked at when driving.
He showed her white , black and red ones but not one of them did it for her then she was passing one day and noticed that we had a bright yellow one in the showroom and guess what that's the one she had.
When asked why he hadn't shown it to her earlier he said your brief was a colour that didn't get attention...
