Greetings Friends old and new, yes it's Tdr1nka back from a long sojourn in the non digital world!

"What brings you back to Cycle Chat then?" I hear some muttering at the back.

To be brutally honest, I am after something. A few minutes of your time, to be precise.

As you might remember I've been working in the field of Disability Cycling for the last 20 years and I'm about to embark on a new project.
In April 2026 and in partnership with pikalabikes.com I aim to be starting the first "All Ability" cycling sessions in Marrakech, Morocco!

And this is why I have started "Pedal to Pikala" a fundraiser to buy a wheelchair carrying trike which I intend to ride from Estapona in Spain to Marrakech, via Rabat and Casablanca. It's a wild ride of around 450 miles and I would like to invite you to be a part of it.

At present I only need two thousand people to donate £2.50 to reach the target.

I know we're right on top of Christmas but £2.50 isn't even going to buy a "Black Forest Gateau" Hot Chocolate from Costa and I may be biased, but it would be far better going towards this incredibly good cause.

Hello everyone!
I hope 2026 is treating you well!

Now that we've got January out of the way I want to share an exciting update about the Pedal to Pikala project.

Some good news first: my work contract has been confirmed with a new employer starting in April, which is fantastic for my long-term stability and the continuation of the project!

The timing of my contract changes does however mean making a shift in the timeline for my epic Estapona to Marrakech adventure and so I am rescheduling the ride to late August or early September.

While this wasn't the original plan, I'm genuinely excited about this change as it offers a few unexpected advantages:

1/ Extra time to raise even more funds for Pikala!
2/ Better conditions for riding (no scorching summer heat!)!

and

3/ Even more opportunities to share the project with potential supporters!

So rest assured, the adventure is absolutely still happening, just with an even better setup!

Even more exciting: I will be heading to Marrakech in late April to visit and volunteer at Pikala as I have for the last two years. This means I'll still get to network with the disabled charities and individuals your generous donations will support, and I'll bring back photos and stories to share with you all. It'll be a wonderful preview of the impact we'll be making together.

So, again, thank you so much for your continued support and belief in this project. Your generosity means the world, and I'm even more motivated than ever to make this ride something special.
