I recently had to have a Police Check for the College. I am sure they said that each job that requires a Police Check means that a fresh check is carried out. (Something to do with the loop holes that were discovered after the Soham enquiry).

The new job you are applying for will therefore not be able to use the "old" certificate IIRC. If you cannot find your certificate, you might like to look into this further, it should not stop you from applying.

I have a feeling that Speicher is correct. Do you need a standard or enhanced check? I only ask as the latter takes far longer to process.

It is true that I would have a fresh CRB check upon getting the job, it's just they have asked for copies of any previous checks:rolleyes:.

I'm not too fussed if I can't find it as one of my referee's processed my last CRB and it will be mentioned as part of my reference.

I think they want to know I've been checked in the past so that I appear less of an unknown quantity. The job is working with disabled adults and I think they're looking for as much background info as possible before giving me the job.

Thank you AF!
I think it's more or less 'in the bag' they just want to check my references first, which as you say makes perfect sense.

Fingers crossed tho, it's a great job with a charity who facilitate cycling for disabled adults which has its problems(miles of red tape)but looks to be very rewarding work.:bicycle:

From what you are saying then, they want to know you passed the last one, before offering you the job, and then they do a New One. Keep looking then! I hope you find it. I think at this time of year, the Checks are processed quickly. But once Teachers start being offered new jobs, later in the year, probably, that is when the processing time increases.

I am off now for a shower and something to eat. (not at the same time, I hasten to add :bicycle:)

Cheers. One day I must tackle my ever growing Paperwork piles but I do not want to destabilise Earth's Orbit :laugh::laugh:

And good luck to you too AF!
It really pays to work in an area where you can get to see real results from your efforts.

I'm about to tackle the next pile of offending paperwork.

I know the feeling - Sorry for late reply but I needed and early night.

Hope everyone is well. I have put on a very large pot and left if to brew slowly (Some new Tea Magik). Help yourself to the Bikkies as well. Off to pick up a mate and then join in with a training session for this http://www.cycle4sanity.co.uk/ ; so I should be out for most of the day.
