Mornings!!

Had a somewhat elongated bike ride this evening with the local CTC. Just having a last mug before I hit the sack, so to speak.

Morning!

Up and at 'em!

Having my first cuppa of the day as I allow the hen food to absorb water. Duration of time it takes me to drink a first cuppa is ideal time for The Laydeez's breakfast to be perfect. Then I'll take it out to them. Shopping for bits for new hens today

I have just picked my first harvest of french beans, grown by yours truly from seed. They look lovely! I am chuffed and surprised!

For the first week or so (dependent upon physical condition of the newbies) they are kept separate but within sight of Anode & Cathode (in temporary accommodation). This is so that they get to know each other without major bloodshed over a pecking order. Mr WC has almost completed a brand-new-super-duper-huge secure run that the hen house Anode & Cathode have will be put in and then all the girls share the hen house but within a big run area plenty big enough for four hens.

Oooh! That is quite stressfull that. Bet the cabin staff know her well now xx(

She is arrived ok, my sister texted this morning to pass the message on. I have to say, I'm impressed, I'd be a bag of nerves doing a trip like that on my own, and I have flown a couple of times in the last few years, so I know the score. She's only flown once in the last 50 years, 5 years ago, with the family, so we just let my sister and b-i-l herd us along.

It wasn't just the flight, she had to get a coach at the other end to take her over to Salt Spring Island on the ferry....

Shall I put the kettle on? Waffles, your new hennery sounds very plush...
